Our Work

The Park CDC’s work is informed by research from the Social Determinants of Health, the Chetty Study, and the Blue Zones. Recognizing the systemic barriers that our community members face in accessing resources and opportunities, we strive to provide information, resources, and tools to advance equity in affordable housing, healthy living, and economic mobility within West Charlotte. The programs offered by The Park CDC are designed to empower those in need by working with and not for the community. We begin by understanding the root causes of issues faced by local residents and then responding with an informed and collaborative approach in which we work alongside program participants to improve outcomes.

The Park CDC’s programmatic design is informed by community voice and centered around community partnership. Program participants are encouraged to identify challenges, barriers, and areas for support as they work toward enhancing their health and wellness and building self-sufficiency. Our approach combines the professional expertise with the lived experiences of those whom we serve to successfully achieve transformative change.
